Internship for ReOrient 2012

This 3-6month internship will provide hands-on experience in theater administration in a festival setting.

  • Administrative Support
    Artist Liaison – Prepare travel arrangements, housing, visitor information packets, and other visiting artist related materials.
    Festival Administration – Filing, copying, and correspondence related to the festival.

  • Publicity and Marketing
    Poster/Postcard Distribution – Spread the word about the festival at bookstores, cafes, libraries, and any other high traffic public spaces.
    Online Event Posting – Use your online communication skills to promote the event.
    Maintain Social Marketing – Be the festival's ambassador on the web! Keep festival news and information flowing.

  • Community Outreach
    o Program Advertising –Help us find businesses and organization that would benefit from exposure to our audience and create a symbiotic relationship with our community.
    o Event Sponsorship – Procure in-kind donations like refreshments, services, or auction items to enhance the success of the festival.

Position Requirements:
This position requires excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work with a variety of people. The ideal candidate will be politically aware and sensitive to the plurality of thought and culture within the Middle East and its world-wide diaspora. Theatre experience preferable but not required.

 

Internship for Development

This 3-6month internship will provide hands-on experience in arts administration and non-profit development/fundraising.

  • Database Integration
    Clean up donor data set in Excel, manually input data in to SalesForce, double-check data integrity for major donors, test search functionality

  • Donor Research & Information Management
    Identify potential donors based on demographics and giving history, and investigate mechanisms of direct contact
    Process donations, develop and send thank you letters, enter donor data and create campaign summary reports

  • General Fundraising Support
    Support the implementation of the fundraising plan's elements including events, special campaigns and database maintenance.

Position Requirements:
This position requires excellent research and organizational skills; experience with MS Excel database functionality and other database applications; familiarity with research tools and resources including the internet, academic and city libraries, various media. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and precise. Political awareness and sensitivity to the plurality of thought and culture within the Middle East and its world-wide diaspora is preferred.
