Nasrudin’s Magnificent Journey to Samarkand

Will Nasrudin and his faithful donkey ever make it to Samarkand, the center of arts and crafts on the ancient Silk Road? There is only one way to find out! This visually colorful performance with dynamic story-telling, dance and music is adapted from several folk tales centered around the comedic personage, Nasrudin Hoja, a wise fool renowned in Central Asia, Turkey and Iran.
This production runs approximately 30-minutes followed by 20-min Q & A session included.

Previous work by Golden Thread’s Fairytale Players has been presented at various locations such as the Asian Art Museum, San Jose Discovery Museum, La Peña Cultural Center, Islamic Cultural Center, the United States of Asian America Festival, San Francisco TheatreFest, San Diego World Theatre Festival, and the Dia de los Niños Festival in San Francisco, and more! We have also performed at numerous schools and libraries in the Alameda, Contra Costa, San Francisco and San Mateo counties.
